Is Playa Blanca A Good Place To Live?

With Playa Blanca’s beautiful landscape and warm people, it’s not surprising that many foreigners wish to live or work in Lanzarote’s latest resort town.

I stayed there for a while and can say it’s a good place to live.

I got to meet new friends, mingle with locals, and visit unique places that I wouldn’t have ever experienced if I didn’t live on the island.

So social life wouldn’t be a problem upon moving to the area since plenty of social activities and spots are available for British Expats to enjoy.

Today, I’m sharing with you the things to do and spots to visit in Playa Blanca to achieve a better social life as a British expat.

Is Playa Blanca In Lanzarote Quiet?

Once a small, peaceful fishing village in the southernmost part of Lanzarote, Playa Blanca has recently grown into a newfound tourism gem.

It’s still quiet, especially in comparison with larger resort towns, but the increasing volume of holidaymakers makes it busy and lively most days.

Social Activities And Spots For Expats In Playa Blanca

Poker

English expats, mostly brits, gather in Arena Bar once a week to play poker and have some drinks.

Visiting the bar will help you to make friends easily over a poker game.

Gym

There are lots of English expats who go to the gym.

So if you want to socialize with fellow brits, try hitting the gym and striking up a conversation while working out.

Odds are you’ll make acquaintances and meet future gym buddies.

Last year I joined Finchy Gym and I loved it.

For a monthly fee, you have access to the gym and all their classes, from yoga and tai chi to HIIT and Zumba.

You can also join their Facebook Group classes, the trainer records all her sessions live and you can follow up online.

My favorite was Tai Chi, we went to the beach in the morning and did the class there.

I found it relaxing, refreshing, and recharging.

Quiz Night

Quiz night is a simple fun activity you shouldn’t miss if you want to socialize with other expats (and locals).

We’ve been to a couple of lovely places like Las Brisas and Las Casitas that hold weekly quizzes and games, and I’d love for you to check them out.

Sports Bars

Sports bars are a universal spot to meet football enthusiasts.

In Playa Blanca, you’ll likely find brits hanging out and watching football in British sports bars branded as Irish pubs.

Playa Blanca Online Forums & Groups

Finally, don’t forget to socialize and network online.

There are forums like the Playa Blanca Forum where you can post questions and interact with locals, holidaymakers, and expats.

Ladies of Playa Blanca, a Facebook group consisting of women living in PB and the town’s frequent visitors, is a must to check out if you’re a female expat.

This all-women group meets on a regular basis, offering you an excellent opportunity to interact with other fellow brits.
