Should You Stay In Montana Rosa’s Villas in Playa Blanca?

You’ve probably heard about Montana Rosa if you’re planning to stay in Playa Blanca.

The area has plenty of budget-friendly villas available for rent that are perfect for travelers who do not want to break the bank.

However, is it actually worth it? Is it an ideal place to stay while you’re traveling in Playa Blanca

Based on my personal experience,  I don’t think so. And today, I want to share with you the reasons why.

I also included some upsides of renting there at the end of the post to let you weigh both pros & cons and personally decide on whether it’s worth renting or not.

Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Stay In Montana Rosa

No Shops

There are no shops in the area, making it difficult for you to buy the stuff you need like groceries and other last-minute travel essentials.

The nearest available shops are more than two miles away from the villas.

No Expats

You won’t meet any expats in Montana Rosa because most people residing in the area are locals.

So if you wish to mingle with expats or other travelers during your stay in PB, this place wouldn’t likely work for you.

No Entertainment

Aside from looking at the mountain scenery and swimming (if the pool isn’t closed), there’s nothing much to do in the villas.

There’s no nearby spot to dine in or have drinks — no bars, café, or restaurant.

Lack Of Transportation And Faraway From Town

Going to the town center or known tourist destinations from the villas is a struggle since there’s a lack of transportation.

The island’s public transport, especially buses, do stop there but the last bus is at 11 PM.

Of course, you can take a taxi, but if you are a large group, this can get expensive over a longer period.

And since the place is far away from the town,  you’ll need a car hire that’s about 60 euros a day.

Houses Are Quite Old And Run-down

The rentals in the area do not have the latest furnishings and tip-top amenities.

Most houses have communal pools that are unusable during winter.

Lots of villas show apparent signs of structural issues and are quite run-down.

The Very Few Upsides

While it’s not an ideal area for me, I think Montana Rosa would be right up your alley if you enjoy long walks in a quiet neighborhood and around Montana Rosa.

It’s also a good option if you’re traveling with a big group since renting a villa offers you more privacy and space.

And compared to other rentals and hotels, this location offers accommodation at a relatively cheaper price.
